ROTARY VOICE COIL ACTUATORS

Voice coil actuators work according to the principle of the Lorentz force, i.e. the force that arises when a current-carrying conductor is in a magnetic field. In the case of a voice coil actuator, the magnetic field is generated by permanent magnets and the conductor is a wire coil. When current is applied to the coil, a force is generated whose magnitude is proportional to the applied current.

Rotary voice coil actuators are supplied without bearings.The low motion inertia of the voice coil assembly enables high angular acceleration of the payload.
